If you’ve been trying to figure out which Etsy SEO tool is worth your money, the eRank vs Everbee vs Alura debate has probably eaten up more of your mental energy than it should. I get it.
When I was building my Etsy print on demand shop from scratch, working 5 to 10 hours a week around a full-time law career, I did not have time to subscribe to three different tools, run parallel experiments, and write a comparative analysis.
I needed to pick one that worked and get back to building.
So here’s what you’re getting from me today: a real comparison of all three tools, grounded in what they actually do, what their data accuracy looks like in practice, what they cost, and who each one is genuinely built for.
And then I’m going to tell you exactly which one I use, which one I recommend to every student inside my Print on Demand Community Freedom Unlocked, and why.
The answer isn’t as complicated as the internet makes it seem.
I’ll also share something at the end that takes the keyword research question mostly off your plate entirely, if you’re at the point where you’d rather have the work done for you.

What All Three Tools Are Actually Trying to Do
Before we get into the specifics, it helps to understand that eRank, Everbee, and Alura are all solving the same core problem. Every Etsy seller needs to find demand, build listings that show up in search, and then monitor whether those listings are working.
Find what buyers are searching for, put your product in front of them with optimized titles and tags, and track the results.
That’s the loop. All three tools are designed to help you run that loop more efficiently than you could by manually combing through Etsy’s search bar and your competitors’ shops.
Where they differ is in where they put their depth, how transparent they are about their data, and how far beyond keyword research they’re willing to go:
- One is built squarely around SEO maintenance and rank tracking.
- One is optimized for fast in-browser product validation while you’re browsing Etsy.
- One is trying to be an all-in-one operations platform that includes marketing automation. Those are genuinely different value propositions, and the right answer for you depends on where you are in your business and what you actually need right now.
eRank: The Etsy SEO Tool I Actually Use
I’ll be upfront: I’m an eRank affiliate. But I want to be equally upfront that I became an affiliate because I was already using it and already recommending it, not the other way around. eRank is the tool that helped me reach six-figure status on Etsy, and I’ve used other tools along the way.
I did not see the same level of results with anything else. So while I’ll give you an honest look at all three options in this post, I’m not going to pretend this is a perfectly neutral comparison.
You deserve my real opinion, and my real opinion is that eRank wins for most Etsy print on demand sellers. Here’s why.
What eRank Actually Does
eRank works by pulling data from Etsy and surfacing actionable insights: keyword performance, competition levels, listing optimization suggestions, and market trends. The tool has a lot of features, which can feel overwhelming at first. But here’s the thing I always tell my students: you don’t need all of them.
I personally use exactly three features, the Keyword Tool, the Bulk Keyword Tool, and Monthly Trends. That’s it. You can build a very successful shop using only those three, and you don’t need to touch the rest.
The Keyword Tool is where most of your research will happen. When you search a keyword, eRank shows you the data you actually need: Etsy Competition and Average Searches. Competition should be green, meaning low. Searches can be red, orange, or green as long as they’re above 100. That’s the whole framework.
Low competition, meaningful search volume. I didn’t want a tool that invented its own proprietary scoring system layered on top of the data. I wanted the actual numbers. eRank gives them to you cleanly, without the noise.
What makes the Keyword Tool particularly useful is that when you search a term, eRank doesn’t just return data on that one keyword. It also generates a long list of related keywords beneath it.
This is where I find some of my strongest opportunities. You type in one idea, scan the related list, click into the terms that look promising, and suddenly you’re several layers deep into a niche with a handful of genuinely solid keyword candidates.
I’ve found keywords through this process that I never would have thought to search directly, and some of them have become consistent traffic drivers in my shop.
The Bulk Keyword Tool is exactly what it sounds like. You paste in up to 20 keywords at once and get data back on all of them simultaneously.
My workflow: I ask ChatGPT to generate a list of keyword ideas in a given niche, copy and paste that list into eRank’s Bulk Keyword Tool, and have my research done in minutes instead of hours.
AI as your brainstorm partner, eRank as your data validator. That combination is genuinely efficient for POD sellers who need to move fast without sacrificing the quality of their research.
The Monthly Trends feature shows you what Etsy shoppers were searching for the previous month, and you can scroll back through more than a year of historical data. I’ve used this for keyword discovery and for design inspiration.
You can filter by category, which is especially useful if your shop has a specific niche focus. It’s one of those features that feels understated until you start actually using it, and then you wonder how you researched without it.
eRank Pricing: What You Actually Need to Pay
eRank is the most affordable serious option in this comparison, and that matters. The free plan is genuinely useful for getting started and getting comfortable with the interface before committing any money.
Once your shop has traction and you’re ready to do consistent keyword research, the Basic plan at $5.99 a month is where I’d send you. I use the Basic plan. I’ve never felt the need to upgrade to Pro.
The keyword lookup allowance at the Basic level is enough for the way I work, and at $5.99 a month, this tool pays for itself the first time you find a low-competition keyword that drives even a single sale.
For reference, the full plan structure runs from free to Basic at $5.99, Pro at $9.99, and Expert at $29.99 a month. Each tier increases your daily keyword lookup allowance, your competitor monitoring capacity, your listing audits per day, and your rank checker usage.
For most individual POD sellers, Basic is entirely sufficient, and completely worth the cost.
Pro is worth considering if you have a large catalog and want more daily research bandwidth. Expert is designed for sellers managing multiple shops at scale or for people supporting multiple client accounts.

The Limitations of eRank (Because You Should Know Them)
I want to give you the honest version, not just the pitch. eRank is not perfect. The most common complaint in seller communities is occasional data inaccuracy. Some users report discrepancies between keywords that eRank suggests and the actual performance of those keywords in their shops.
Etsy updates its algorithm constantly, and while eRank works to keep up, there is sometimes a lag. This is true of every third-party data tool. None of them have direct access to Etsy’s backend numbers. They’re working from signals, estimates, and data collection models. Treat the numbers as directional guidance, not precision analytics, and you’ll be in good shape.
The free plan does have daily limits that will start to feel tight as your shop grows. If you’re doing serious research across multiple niches or managing a large listing catalog, upgrading to Basic is worth it.
eRank tells you what’s being searched. It doesn’t tell you which designs will connect, which niches align with your brand identity, or when a trend is starting to fade. Use it as a strategy partner, not a replacement for thinking.

Everbee: Built for In-Browser Product Validation
Everbee has a genuinely different core use case than eRank, and I want to represent that fairly. If your primary research workflow involves browsing Etsy, looking at competitor listings, and wanting product analytics overlays right there on the page, Everbee was designed for exactly that experience.
Its Chrome extension shows you estimated monthly sales, revenue, and conversion-style metrics on listings as you browse. The Tag Analyzer lets you see which tags competitors are using on their live listings.
For sellers who prefer to research by exploring the marketplace itself rather than running searches through a separate dashboard, that in-browser workflow has real appeal.
Everbee’s keyword research suite also includes a “keyword score” metric and trend positioning data. I’ve found that keyword score to be confusing and not entirely accurate.
Where it differs meaningfully from eRank is in its data window: Everbee’s own documentation states that its keyword search volume reflects the last 30 days.
That means its data moves faster when trends shift, which can be useful for chasing current demand, but it also means Everbee’s numbers will often look different from eRank’s, which smooths data across a longer window.
Neither approach is wrong. They’re measuring different things.
Knowing that will save you a lot of confusion if you ever run the same keyword through both tools and get different results, because you will.
The Accuracy Question Around Everbee
Everbee claims an average accuracy rate of approximately 80 percent for its sales estimates, which is a self-reported figure. Seller community reactions to this are genuinely mixed. Some sellers find the sales overlays useful for directional product validation.
Others report that the estimates were significantly off, even when checking their own shop data against what Everbee displayed.
This isn’t unique to Everbee. All three tools in this comparison are working with estimated data, because Etsy does not publicly expose true per-listing sales figures to anyone.
The difference is that Everbee’s sales-estimate overlay is one of its most prominent features, so the accuracy question hits it more directly than it does eRank, which centers its value proposition on keyword data rather than revenue estimates.
Everbee Pricing
Everbee is the most expensive option in this comparison for full access. The Hobby tier is free. Growth is $29.99 a month, or $19.99 a month billed annually. Business is $99 a month, or $69 a month billed annually.
For a tool whose primary value proposition is in-browser competitor research and keyword discovery, that is a significant price point compared to eRank’s $5.99 Basic plan.
Also, if you want a more affordable chrome extension that shows you the sales estimate overlay of each listing directly on your desktop, check out Ehunt, which is the tool I use. There is a free tier and it starts at $7.99 a month.
If in-browser browsing research is your dominant workflow and you’re doing it at high volume consistently, the price may be justified for your situation. For most POD sellers who are earlier in their Etsy journey, I’d have a hard time sending you there at that price when eRank gives you what you need for a fraction of the cost.
Alura: The All-in-One Platform Play
Alura is the most ambitious of the three tools in terms of scope. It’s not just positioning itself as a research tool. It wants to be the operating system for your entire Etsy shop. Its Listing Helper scores your listings on a 1 to 100 scale based on Etsy handbook guidance, which is a useful diagnostic if you’re not sure why a specific listing isn’t performing.
The tool includes keyword and product research, a Chrome extension with on-page overlays, an AI writing assistant, and depending on your plan, features like Pinterest marketing integration, A/B testing, customer followup automation, and Etsy Ads optimization.
Alura is also the most transparent of the three about how it actually connects to your Etsy account. It explicitly describes using Etsy’s official OAuth authorization flow, redirects you to Etsy for permission approval, and clearly states it will never ask for your Etsy password.
For sellers who think about the security mechanics of third-party tool access, that clarity is worth noting.
Alura Pricing
Alura’s pricing is more competitive than Everbee’s. The free plan includes up to five daily searches per tool and optimization for up to 10 listings. Basic is $7.99 a month, Growth is $14.99, and Professional is $29.99 a month with unlimited tool usage, multi-shop connection, and CSV data export.
For a platform with this breadth of features, $29.99 for the top tier is reasonable. The real question is whether you’ll actually use all of those features or whether you’d be paying for capabilities that sit dormant in your account while you do keyword research the same way you always did.
Who Alura Is Actually For
Alura makes the most sense for sellers who are genuinely going to use the operational and marketing features: the A/B testing, the customer followup automation, the Pinterest marketing integration, the Etsy Ads optimization.
If you’re at a point in your business where you’re thinking systematically about conversion rate optimization and marketing automation, Alura’s breadth becomes genuinely valuable.
If you’re earlier in your journey and you mainly need to find good keywords and get listings live, you’re paying for a lot of features you won’t use yet.
My advice is to start simpler.
You can always add complexity later. The mistake most new sellers make is adding tools and systems before they’ve built the foundation that makes those tools useful.

The Direct Comparison You Actually Came Here For
Let me give you the straight version without the padding. eRank is the most SEO-maintenance-oriented of the three: the strongest keyword research at daily-limited volumes, explicit rank checking, listing audits, competitor monitoring, and multi-shop scaling at higher tiers.
It’s also the lowest-cost paid entry point at $5.99 a month, and its data transparency around what you need to pay attention to (competition and search volume) is clean and direct.
There’s no proprietary score overlaid on top of the metrics. You see the actual numbers and make your own call.
Everbee is the most in-Etsy product validation tool of the three: a Chrome extension built for browsing competitor listings and getting sales and revenue overlays in real time while you’re inside the Etsy marketplace.
It prices higher for full access, and the accuracy debate around its estimates is louder than the others because those estimates are a central part of its value proposition.
Alura is the most all-in-one operations platform: it bundles listing scoring, research, AI writing assistance, and marketing and operations features into a single interface.
It’s built for sellers who want one platform to manage multiple aspects of their business and are actively using the operational features to grow.
A reality check that most tool-comparison content skips: all three of these tools are working with estimated data, because Etsy does not share the numbers sellers actually want access to. Every single one of them should be treated as directional research guidance, not precision analytics.
Your own shop data is always the most reliable signal you have. Use these tools to find opportunities and validate direction, then let your actual listing performance tell you what’s working.
My Recommendation, and the Workflow I Actually Teach
I recommend eRank to every student I work with, and I’ve been consistent about that for years.
Not because it’s the most feature-rich option or because I’m an affiliate, but because it gives you the data you actually need at a price that makes sense for where most sellers are when they’re building, without the distraction of features you don’t need yet.

These are the only tools I use for my shop!
Canva: Canva is the most amazing tool. It is user friendly, and always improving! The tools that Canva has have evolved so much since I first started using it in 2022 for the better. I use it almost everyday. I use it to create designs, to edit AI designs, and to create product mockups.
Ideogram: Ideogram is an AI design tool that generates high-quality graphics with exceptionally accurate text rendering, making it ideal for creating quote-based and typography-focused designs. I also use the prompt based editing for mockups, making it a wonderful alternative to Photoshop, which is expensive.
Midjourney: Midjourney is an AI image tool that blows my mind every time I use it. It takes some time to get the prompts down. Once you play with it, you will get better at creating images and art to include on your print on demand products.
E-Hunt: E-Hunt is fantastic for competitor research and some light keyword research. My favorite aspect of E-Hunt is the Chrome extension that allows you to see the sales amount for an individual item on Etsy. Check out this article to see an example.
eRank: eRank is an SEO data tool that also allows you to search the competition and will also give you key words for your Etsy listing. It is also a low cost tool that will help you find low competition and highly searched niches.
