Here is my Etsy print on demand income breakdown for April 2025. This month was rough. Like, “am I even good at this anymore?” kind of rough.

I made $6,873.65 in revenue with a 1.9% conversion rate. My profit margin is typically 45% (~$3,093.14).

And yeah, that’s a good chunk of change—especially compared to someone just starting out. But for me? It felt low.

I’ve had $28K months. I’ve had $20K months. And when you’ve seen those highs, anything less feels like a slide. If you’re in the middle of a slow month—or three—I see you. I am you.

But here’s the thing: this is normal. This is retail. This is Etsy. It’s an ebb and flow, not a straight line. And if you don’t learn to ride the wave? You’ll burn out fast.

Let’s Talk About Profitability: What ‘Passive Income’ Really Means

We need to clear this up right now: passive income on Etsy isn’t “post a listing and go to Bali.”

That ain’t it.

Passive income here means you create something once, and it can sell a hundred times. You set up systems that work in the background.

One major contributor to your systems is Printify, which prints and ships everything for you. Then, you use tools like eRank and EHunt to find low-competition keywords so your stuff actually gets found.

Check out this article on how Printify and these tools helped me build a $200,000+ shop.

I didn’t build a $200K Etsy shop with good vibes and Canva alone. I built it with strategy, mindset, and consistency.

Etsy POD is still one of the most profitable online businesses if you know what you’re doing. There’s low startup cost, you don’t have to deal with inventory, and you can scale like crazy when a listing hits.

You also don’t need to post on social media at all! But none of that matters if you’re not consistent.

Mindset Over Metrics: How the D.R.E.A.M. Method Keeps Me Going

Even when I don’t hit my income goals, I stick to the method. D.R.E.A.M. is how I built this business, and it’s how I keep it alive.

D: Dream

Every low month makes me ask: why did I start this? My “why” isn’t just money. It’s slow mornings, walks with my kids, no commute, and no more sitting for hours in meetings. This why resets me during months when sales are low.

It helps ground me, and then I get right back to work on repeating the same systems that got me to $200K.

R: Research

You don’t stop researching just because you made sales last month. I live in eRank and Etsy.

I use ChatGPT to brainstorm ideas. I spy on competition with EHunt’s FREE chrome extension browser. Read more here about my spying process.

Curiosity = sales. Period.

E: Execute

Execution is about showing up even when it sucks. Listing new products when your last five flopped.

Designing something new even if your shop stats are making you cry.

Sometimes it’s 1–2 listings a week. Sometimes it’s more. But I stay moving.

A: Amplify

Got a random sale? Cool. Make three more things in that same vibe. Or, put it on different products.

If a forest-themed hoodie sold, maybe your audience wants more woodland animal energy. Don’t reinvent. Amplify.

M: Manage

Track what’s working. Edit old listings. Refresh your mindset.

Take breaks. Go get that massage. Your energy is a resource. Treat it like gold.

The Employee Mindset Is Killing Your Etsy Growth

This is a big one. Most of us came from jobs where we clocked in, did our work, and got a paycheck. Etsy doesn’t work like that.

You might put in 20 hours this week and see nothing change. That doesn’t mean it’s not working.

You’re planting seeds. Etsy isn’t a job—it’s a business. And you’re the boss.

That means long-term thinking, delayed gratification, and staying the course even when it’s quiet.

Stop looking for daily validation. Start building long-term momentum.

How to Keep Going When It Feels Like It’s Not Working

Let’s be honest—June is looking worse than April. And that would’ve broken me two years ago. But now? I just go back to my method.

I focus on:

  • Consistency over perfection: I stopped waiting for the “perfect” product or the “perfect” timing. I list when I can, even if it’s not my best work. The magic is in momentum.
  • Learning new design trends: Trends change, and so do customer tastes. I study what’s selling, scroll through trending designs, and keep evolving. It’s not about copying—it’s about staying relevant.
  • Batching my work: Instead of working chaotically every day, I block out specific times to do deep work. One day is for design. One is for keyword research. This helps me stay productive without burning out.
  • Letting sales data guide new products: If something sells, I don’t guess what to make next—I let the data speak. I create more products with similar vibes, colors, or themes. Sales are clues.

I remind myself: you’re not failing—you’re growing.

And that growth? It’s not always loud. Sometimes it’s quiet. Internal.

Behind-the-scenes. It’s found in showing up even when it’s slow, trusting the process, and building something that will outlast the mood of the moment.

Final Thoughts

Is Etsy print on demand still profitable in 2025? Absolutely. But not if you treat it like a scratch ticket.

If you’re struggling, it doesn’t mean you’re not cut out for this. It means you need support, clarity, and a better system.

And that’s why I share these reports. To show you the truth. Not just the highlight reel.
