The Best Tools For Etsy Sellers
It might be hard to sift through the noise to determine which are the best tools for Etsy sellers. With so many tools and strategies promising instant success.
Trust me, I’ve been there—signing up for every flashy software mentioned in YouTube videos, thinking more tools meant more sales.
Spoiler alert: they didn’t.
Instead, I learned firsthand that success doesn’t come from quantity; it comes from quality and focus. With a solid strategy, the right tools, and a sprinkle of AI magic, my print-on-demand shop now thrives in a six-figure bracket.
Below, I’m going to show you which tools I used to build my multi-six figure shop. I currently still use all of them.
Ultimately, whichever tools you want to use, just focus on getting to know them well. Determine if they work for you and if they’ve been helpful. If not, get rid of them.
But, if you have tools that work well for you, I would caution you to not add another one to your tool belt just because you saw a Youtuber talking about how it made them or others $XYZ,000.
It will distract you. And, you don’t need that.
Choose wisely, do your own due diligence and homework on whether a tool works for you. Then execute.
Why Sellers Need Tools for Their Etsy Shops
Running an Etsy store takes hustle and focus, and some tools to keep things smooth and profitable. With thousands of sellers vying for the attention of potential buyers, it’s no longer just about crafting beautiful products.
It’s about working smarter, not harder, leveraging tools designed to help you achieve efficient, sustainable growth while standing out in the sea of Etsy listings.
Staying Competitive in a Crowded Marketplace
Etsy isn’t just a cozy corner for crafters anymore; it’s a massive online marketplace packed with fierce competition. To rise above, you need to know what sells and why—and that’s where tools for Etsy sellers come in clutch.
Here’s how they help you stay competitive:
- Design In Demand items: Designing in half the time with items that people love will help you grow your shop quickly and consistently.
- Nail low-competition keywords: A keyword research tool can help you find the low competition keywords that can get your products in front of buyers.

Top Etsy SEO Tools for Keyword Research and Optimization
When it comes to optimizing your Etsy listings and driving traffic, having the right tools in your arsenal makes all the difference.
Keyword research and Etsy SEO are not just about plugging in random words—it’s about smart, data-driven decisions that put your products in front of the right audience.
Here are two highly effective tools that I used to build my six-figure shop.
eRank: Comprehensive Keyword Insights and Tracking
eRank is one of the most robust Etsy SEO tools out there, offering a toolkit that goes far beyond basic keyword research.
This tool lets you analyze search volume, track keyword trends, and even uncover the strategies of top sellers in your niche.
But let’s be honest—not everything about eRank is plug-and-play. With a near-overwhelming amount of data available, it’s easy to get distracted. Here’s how I recommend using it for maximum impact:
- Focus on Low-Competition Keywords: The eRank platform helps you identify achievable keywords with lower competition. Trust me, this is a game-changer for newer shops or niches with less visibility.
- Monitor Trending Keywords: Use eRank to spot seasonal trends or emerging products.
That is it! That is all that I use eRank for. Everything else within the tool didn’t move the needle with my shop. But keywords and trends are valuable.
Priced right, eRank offers a free version that supports up to 5 keyword lookups per day, making it accessible for new sellers just starting out.
If your shop is scaling, you might want to explore its Basic Plan ($5.99/month), which gives you enriched features like competitor analysis and additional keyword data. I still have the $5.99 plan which seems like an incredibly reasonable price.
For those ready to dive deep into Etsy analytics or want to boost their store’s SEO game, eRank is the tool to have in your corner. Explore what eRank offers for Etsy sellers here.
EtsyHunt: Trend Spotting and Product Research
Ehunt (formerly EtsyHunt) is another reasonably priced research tool.
Ehunt’s free plan allows for up to 10 searches per day—perfect for dipping your toes before committing. It’s great for sellers who like exploring competition dynamics or trends fast without getting bogged down.
I only use Ehunt for competitive research. I found the interface for quickly looking up shop’s data to see what listings were popular much easier with Ehunt versus eRank. Plus, Ehunt has a FANTASTIC Chrome extension, which allows you to see how much an item sells for right on the Etsy website!
I go into more depth on how that works in my EtsyHunt Review.
But, when I’m researching what is in demand, this extension tells me very quickly (on the thumbnail image) what is selling, and what is NOT. Cuts my research time in half.
Graphic Design and Product Mockup Tools
Creating stunning visuals is non-negotiable for Etsy sellers. Whether it’s eye-catching thumbnails or mockups that make your products pop, the right tools save time and elevate your shop’s professionalism. Let’s look at the must-haves for graphic design and product mockups.
Canva: Easy-to-Use Graphic Designs for Beginners
If you ask me, Canva is a lifesaver for anyone who doesn’t have a graphic design background—like most of us Etsy sellers starting out.
I am literally on Canva almost every day working on designs. It is user-friendly, but also just keeps getting better over time. Since I started learning it in 2022, there have been numerous game-changing features added to it that have leveled-up my designs.
Canva has a free plan, but I recommend going with pro for $15 a month right out of the gate. There are certain features that you will need as an Etsy POD seller that only the pro plan can offer.
Midjourney: AI-Generated Art for Unique Listings
Ever wish you could churn out artwork as if you had a team of designers? Enter Midjourney. This AI tool lets you generate insanely unique artwork tailored to your niche.
I leaned on Midjourney heavily when scaling my print-on-demand store to six figures. Why? It allowed me to produce multiple designs without burning out.
It also created detailed, beautiful designs that I couldn’t create myself. I wish I was an artist, but I am not.
But this is very important—it’s not a “set it and forget it” solution. Midjourney gives you a great starting point, but you’ll still need to fine-tune those AI-generated designs.
I always pull the images into Canva for extra editing. Maybe it’s tweaking the colors, removing the background, adding text, or adjusting the colors—it’s the polish that makes them shine in your Etsy shop.
I also often “stretch” my Midjourney designs to make them longer in a way that Canva cannot. I use a free tool called Photopea for that.
Photopea: A Free Photoshop Alternative
Photoshop is the giant of photo editing, but let’s be real—not everyone has the budget for it. That’s where Photopea steps in.
It’s free, web-based, and incredibly robust for design needs that go beyond basic edits. If you’ve ever wanted to manipulate images in ways Canva can’t handle, Photopea is your best friend.
There are also more advanced uses that I have not learned yet because I simply don’t have the time. But, I use the tools that fit my work flow the best!
These tools empower Etsy sellers to level up their product presentations without wasting time or money.
The Best Print-on-Demand Platform for Etsy Sellers
Choosing a print-on-demand (POD) platform is like finding the right business partner—it can make or break your Etsy store’s success.
This is why I chose Printify. It ensures smooth order fulfillment while allowing you to focus on the fun stuff: designing and marketing products. Let’s dive into why Printify stands out from the rest.
Printify: Cost-Effective and Scalable POD Solution
If you’re looking for a POD partner that’s as flexible as your favorite pair of leggings, Printify might just be it.
This platform shines with its diverse product range, competitive pricing, and a straightforward integration process for Etsy sellers.
Here’s what makes Printify a go-to choice for Etsy print-on-demand sellers:
- Diverse Products and Print Providers: From pillows to hoodies, the variety of items is next-level. Unlike some platforms where you’re stuck with one print provider, Printify allows you to choose from multiple print providers. This is especially handy when one provider is out of stock—you’ll always have a backup.
- Flexible Pricing Options: Printify gives you room to experiment with your pricing strategy. With a free subscription available, you can test the waters before committing. Looking to step up your game? Their Premium Plan unlocks up to 20% discounts on products, keeping your costs low and your profits high.
- Seamless Etsy Integration: Running an Etsy store is stressful enough without tech headaches. Printify integrates directly with Etsy, syncing your listings and managing orders automatically. You upload your designs, they handle the rest—it’s as close to effortless as it gets.
Customer support is another strong suit. Need help figuring out order fulfillment or troubleshooting an issue?
Printify’s support team is not only responsive but genuinely helpful. I am always impressed by how responsive they are. They want you to grow your business!
When it comes to scaling your Etsy shop, Printify offers unmatched reliability. Whether you’re fulfilling one order a week or hundreds a day, their platform grows with you. And yes, reaching a high sales volume unlocks perks that further accelerate your shop’s success.
Best Practices for Selecting the Right Tools
Be strategic and find tools that align with your goals, workflow, and unique needs.
I was guilty of trying other tools because I saw YouTubers talk about all the benefits. Then I realized, they are incentivized to do that through video views and affiliate commission.
However, they may not have used these tools to build their successful shops and many of these tools are new, and haven’t contributed to their own success.
Full disclosure: When it comes to research tools, I am an affiliate for eRank and Ehunt only. I will not promote products that I haven’t used before, or that have not contributed to my own success.
I share this to make sure that you do your own research and if a platform doesn’t make sense to you and doesn’t work for your workflow, then find one that does and stick with it. Here’s some tips on how to do that.
Research and Test Before Committing
Not every tool will be the magic wand your shop is looking for—and that’s okay! The key is to test tools before locking yourself into paid plans.
Opt for tools offering free trials or limited free plans to explore their features risk-free. Platforms like eRank provide a fantastic free tier allowing you to analyze keywords or competitors, while more advanced features come with paid upgrades.
Tips for testing:
- Focus on usability – Is the tool easy to navigate? You don’t need additional headaches when tackling an already busy Etsy store.
- Check for integrations – Can the tool sync seamlessly with your online store (like Etsy or social media platforms)? If not, you might spend hours transferring data manually.
- Review customer service – A tool is only as good as its support system. Look for platforms with active help desks or community forums.
Prioritize Versatility and Scalability
As your store grows, your tools need to keep pace. Whether it’s managing increased order volumes or expanding product lines, prioritize tools that are designed to adapt. For instance, platforms like Printify excel at scalability, making them excellent for print-on-demand sellers who want flexible options for higher sales.
By selecting tools that don’t just meet your current needs but also support future growth, you position your Etsy shop for long-term success.
Final Thoughts
Choosing the best tools for Etsy sellers is about more than just convenience—it’s about building a sustainable business that thrives in a competitive marketplace.
From streamlining task management to enhancing product visibility with smart keyword research, the right tools are your secret weapon for saving time and boosting sales.
Start with free plans or trials to explore what fits your shop’s unique needs.
The journey to a successful Etsy shop is yours to own. Equip yourself wisely, and you’ll be cashing in on notifications while building a life centered on freedom and abundance. Keep striving, experimenting, and scaling—you’ve got this!
