Honest EtsyHunt Review

As an Etsy print-on-demand seller, staying profitable often feels like a daily challenge. In order to build a successful Etsy shop, you need tools to help you with competitive research and market research.

I started my shop in October 2022 and struggled with finding the right tools to help me increase sales. Ultimately, I found success with EtsyHunt for competition research.

I’ve been able to scale my shop to over $28,000 months, and EtsyHunt still helps me when I work on my shop 2 years later.

EtsyHunt recently changed its name to EHunt. I will use EHunt and EtsyHunt interchangeably throughout this article.

This tool is designed to give you valuable insights into trending products, keywords, and competitor sales data.

What is EtsyHunt?

According to its website, EHunt is the world’s largest database of ecommerce products. It offers “62+ million product listings, and makes it easy to research or optimize your Etsy SEO, Logo, Listings, Photos, Shipping, Pricing, Fees and more.”

EHunt will help with your product research by showing you which products are selling on Etsy. It will also help with keyword research.

One of my favorite features is the Etsy Bestseller Ranking Feature. It will show you all the bestsellers on Etsy.

This is a great place to start your research when you first open your shop.

When you first open an Etsy shop, you might want to sell what you like and things that you enjoy either creating or buying. However, that is the biggest mistake new Etsy sellers make!

In order to have a thriving shop, you need to sell what others are actively searching for.

What do buyers want to purchase? What products and styles resonate with consumers? Once you find those answers and create products that people want, you will create sales.

How Do You Use EtsyHunt?

Etsy Hunt comes packed with features that cater to Etsy sellers’ unique needs. Here are the standout tools that make it indispensable:

  1. Product Research:
    • Analyze trending products to see what’s in demand.
    • Access detailed data about sales frequency, pricing, and reviews.
  2. Keyword Research:
    • Discover high-ranking keywords to optimize your listings.
    • View search volume, competition level, and related keywords.
  3. Shop Research (MY FAVORITE):
    • Track top-performing Etsy shops for inspiration and strategy insights.
    • Review product sales for your competitors to see what is in demand.
  4. Category Analysis:
    • Understand what categories are thriving on Etsy.
    • Identify niche markets that align with your products.

These features empower sellers to create a data-driven strategy that aligns with market demands, which is so important when building a successful shop.

EtsyHunt Pricing

Your first question is probably, how much does EtsyHunt cost? One of the most appealing aspects of Etsy Hunt is that it’s free to use.

You heard me right, free.99!

The free version of EHunt is the perfect starting point if you are a new seller starting off with product and competition research.

I started out with the free plan, which includes 10 product, keyword, and shop searches a day. It was enough for me at the time.

Then, once I scaled up my research, I upgraded to the $3.99/month plan, which is a great price for a tool I use almost daily.

Enhanced Market Research

Let’s face it—guesswork doesn’t cut it in competitive marketplaces, and EtsyHunt eliminates the guesswork.

It provides data-driven insights into what’s trending, which products are in demand, and how competitors perform—all in a simple dashboard format.

I’ve tried many research tools for Etsy, and my favorite are EHunt and eRank. When you are starting out, it is best to pick the tool that best matches your research plan.

Competitive Analysis on EHunt

My initial research plan was to start off with competitive analysis. I wanted to understand what shops were doing well, and why. What were they selling? How were their designs structured? Do their products have any common theme or vibe?

By studying the competition, you can also understand their pricing strategies, keyword tags, and sales volume over time.

With EtsyHunt, their shop database made that so easy. I could really study my competition, save them in a list and revisit them to see how they have grown (as I often still do).

Competitive Analysis and Product Research on Etsy

My favorite aspect of EHunt is the Chrome extension that allows you to see a store’s sales of a specific item on the Etsy website.

It is such a time saver, and it is free!

A lot of my research is done on Etsy, and to be able to actually see how many sales an item has while you are on the Etsy website is such a hack!

Here is an example:

Essentially, it’s like having a cheat sheet for what to sell and how to sell it. Say goodbye to hours spent brainstorming and hello to strategic decision-making.

EtsyHunt’s ability to show you golden opportunities makes it a must-have for anyone serious about succeeding on Etsy.

If you’ve ever felt stuck picking the right niche or products, this is the tool to break through that barrier.

Limitations of EtsyHunt

Like any tool, EtsyHunt isn’t without its drawbacks. While it offers exceptional features, there are certain areas where it falls short, especially when compared to competitors.

Let’s take a closer look at what you might find limiting when using this platform.

Here are some drawbacks

  1. Free Plan: With any free plan, you will be limited in how much data you can have access to . However, $3.99 a month can get you everything you need as an advanced seller.
  2. Not As Pretty: Compared to some other tools, EHunt feels slightly dated, which might turn off users accustomed to sleeker designs and more engaging interaction tools. But, that shouldn’t turn you off if you find the tools useful.
  3. Too Many Features: EHunt has a lot going on, and is always innovating and offering its users more features. Obviously, that is not a drawback, but for some beginners, it can be overwhelming. Stick with one feature that you need for your specific research plan and do not become overwhelmed by everything on the site.
  4. Accuracy of Search Data: As you become a seasoned seller, that also means that you will become an expert at research. I will tell you now as you begin your journey that NO SEO TOOL IS PERFECT! They all have limitations. However, they are still necessary to help you succeed. Keep that in mind, and keep building your shop using the best tools you can.

In essence, the platform has proven to be a highly functional tool that helps sellers uncover opportunity gaps and optimize their listings. It has helped me immensely and still is as I grow my shop.

It was one of the tools that helped me each a $13,000 month!
